lamnatstsêach ’el-shôshanîym
‘êdûth le’âçâph mizemôwr
2. Shepherd of Yisra'el, listen,
leader of flock-like Yoçeph,
who is enthroned among the Kerubim, shine out.
rô‘êh yisrâ’êl ha’azîynû
nôhêg katstsô’n yôçêph
yôshêb hakkerûbîym hôwphîy‘âh
3. before the face of Ephraim, Binyamin and Manasseh
arouse your might,
stride out for salvation for us.
liphenêy ’ephrayim ûbinyâmin ûmenasseh
‘ôwrerâh ’eth-gebûrâthekhâ
ûlekhâh lîyshu‘âthâ lânû
4. O God, restore us,
shed the light of your face and set us free.
elôhîym hashîybênû
wehâ’êr pâneykhâ weniwwâshê‘âh
5. Yahweh God of battles,
how long you have smouldered over the prayers of your people.
YHWH ’elôhîym tsebâ’ôwth
‘ad-mâthay ‘âshanetâ bithphillath ‘ammekhâ
6. You fed them bread of tears
and gave them drink of tears thrice over,
he’ekhaletâm lechem dime‘âh
wattasheqêmôw bidemâ‘ôwth shâlîysh
7. you stationed us in strife before our neighbours
and our enemies, they mock this.
tesîymênû mâdôwn lishekhênêynû
we’ôyebaynû yileagû-lâmôw
8. O God of battles, restore us,
shed the light of your face and set us free.
elôhîym tsebâ’ôwth hashîybênû
wehâ’êr pâneykhâ weniwwâshê‘âh
9. A vine out of Mitsrayim you trailed,
you drove out nations so you could plant her,
gephen mimmitsrayim taççîya‘
tegârêsh gôwyim wattittâ‘ehâ
10. you cleared a place for her,
you rooted her: she took root and filled the land.
pinnîythâ lephâneyhâ
wattasherêsh shârâsheyhâ wattemallê’-’ârets
11. Covered were the mountains by her shade,
and by her branches the cedars of El.
kaçû hârîym tsillâh
wa‘anâpheyhâ ’arezêy-’êl
12. She stretched out her boughs to the Sea
and to the River her suckling shoots.
teshallach qetsîyrehâ ‘ad-yâm
we’el-nâhâr yôwneqôwtheyhâ
13. Why then have you broken down her defences
that she is foraged by any who pass by along the road?
lâmmâh pâratsetâ gedêreyhâ
we’ârûhâ kol-‘ôberêy dârekh
14. She is torn by wild boar of the forest
and the teeming life of the fields grazes her.
yekarçemennâh chazîyr mîyyâ‘ar
wezîyz sâday yire‘ennâh
15. O God of battles, return I pray,
take note from heaven and see,
and tend to the vine - this one -
elôhîym tsebâ’ôwth shûb-nâh
habbêt mishshâmayim ûre’êh
ûpeqôd gephen zô’th
16. both the trunk you planted with your right hand
and even the sprig you secured for yourself.
wekônnâh ’asher-nâte‘âh yemîynekhâ
we‘al-bên ’immatsetâh lâkh
17. She has been burnt by fire, she has been cut away -
from the rebuke of your face any would perish.
seruphâh bâ’êsh keçûchâh
migga‘arath pâneykhâ yô’bêdû
18. Let your hand be upon the man at your right hand,
even the sprig of Adam secured for yourself.
tehîy-yâdekhâ ‘al-’îysh yemîynekhâ
‘al-ben-’âdâm ’îmmatsetâ lâkh
19. And we will not turn away from you:
give us life and in your name we will call out.
welô’-nâçôg mimmekhâ
techayyênû ûbeshimekhâ niqerâ’
20. O Yahweh God of battles, restore us,
shed the light of your face and set us free.
YHWH ’elôhîym tsebâ’ôwth hashîybênû
wehâ’êr pâneykhâ weniwwâshê‘âh
